About MLC

The Machine Learning Center(MLC), which was founded by Pro. X.Z. Wang in 2000, is a research institute of the department of Mathematics & Computer, Hebei University. It is established with the mission of developing the technologies and methods of machine learning area, training lots of graduates and PHD students with good abilities to conduct research, exploring the application of Machine Learning technologies to real world problem.

At present, there are about 30 full-time employees in our institute with two of them are Doctor Supervisors, and six are Master Supervisors. Meantime, there are 3 PHD degree holders, 8 PHD candidates and about 50 graduate candidates in MLC. Our main research interests focus on Inductive learning, Data Mining, Case-Based Reasoning, Neural Networks, Fuzzy Expert Systems, Support Vector Machine, Rough Sets and Fuzzy Measure & Fuzzy Integral, etc.. The students and faculty of the MLC are driven to improve the body of research in those above areas as well as discover valuable practical applications of such technologies.

Our institute has a wide range of academic exchange activities with many high-level international universities and institute in HK, Canada, Germany, etc. Untill now, we have held a series of international conferences on Machine Learning and Cybenetics(ICMLC2002-2007) where many students, researchers and experts from all over the world coming together to share, discuss and learn from each other in order to grasp the latest technology and broaden their minds.
